About
Mr Sargent is a proven leader in the nuclear, defence and battery metals sectors. During his 34-year career, he worked for Jacobs Engineering for 25 years, leading their nuclear new build business and their Ministry of Defence business. He also led the integration of both CH2M’s non-US government solutions business and Wood Group’s nuclear business. He worked closely with Horizon Nuclear Power on the construction planning and site licensing of the Wylfa Newydd Nuclear Power Station.
Previously Mr Sargent was Magnox Site Director, and then ILW Decommissioning Programme Director, for Berkeley Nuclear Power Station & Technical Centre. He moved into the critical minerals sector in January 2021 to develop Green Lithium, a scaling company that plans to build and operate a low carbon, sustainable battery-grade lithium chemicals refinery in Teesside.
Mr Sargent has a Masters Degree in Civil & Maritime Engineering from the University of Liverpool. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Mr Sargent started his career as a maritime civil engineer and went on to become a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
